Jacob Matthews

A recent graduate of High Point University, Jacob majored in Political Science with a double minor in Nonprofit Leadership & Management and Civic Responsibility & Social Innovation. The recipient of the 2020 Nonprofit Leadership and Management Outstanding Student Award, he is also a Truman Scholarship nominee, recipient of the "Outstanding Achievement in Practical Politics" award from High Point University, and the recipient of the 2018-2019 Newman Civic Fellowship. A former intern for Congressman Mark Meadows, formerly President Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff, Jacob recently served as the Chairman and Executive Director of the High Point University College Republicans and served as the only Program Intern for the 2020 Republican National Convention. Outside of politics, he served his peers as the Senior Class Vice President and volunteered 150 hours per semester at West End Ministries, a nonprofit ministry in the High Point community. Jacob is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Communication and Business Leadership program at High Point University where he also works as a Graduate Assistant Ambassador for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
